Penick Village is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the communitys buildings apartments equipment and grounds to ensure a safe comfortable and well-maintained environment for residents and staff.
Job Purpose:
Works cooperatively with all other Department Leaders and coworkers and accepts direction from leadership.
Able to work full-time hours plus extended work hours when demand is required.
Respond to identified concerns in a timely manner.
Creates an atmosphere of open communication with employees.

Provides information and tools and assists co-workers in the decision-making process.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties- Maintenance
Work assignments can vary from rough fabrication and dimensioning to close positioning and exact measurements requiring the application of the trades highest finishing skills and standards. Employees use complex tools and measuring instruments requiring multiple calibration and/or adjustments.
Performs general plumbing electrical and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facilitys equipment and systems.
Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
Consults with the Maintenance Supervisor to identify the best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing electrical and HVAC systems continue operating properly.
Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
Assignments are received in the form of work orders through our online work order system. Employees are expected to independently perform routine work. New or unusual assignments may be accompanied by more detailed instructions. Review is usually accomplished by the Maintenance Supervisor through audit of the completed work orders and/or spot-checking completed tasks.
Employee functions within the work guidelines established by the Maintenance Supervisor. Within these guidelines the employee will apply traditional trade knowledge and skills. The employee will occasionally modify standard practice to suit unusual situations. As troubleshooting is a routine duty the employee must regularly consider a variety of related facts in solving work problems.
Work requires employees to continuously exercise visual attention while completing tasks. Employees must periodically make precise measurements or fit together parts with fairly precise tolerances.
Employees must continuously be aware of the multiple work steps in completing assigned tasks. Work requires the employee to be able to trouble-shoot problems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Grounds
As appropriate assist in the coordination of continual maintenance of the grounds paths walkways lighting parking lots etc. at Penick Village.
Job Requirements: As a Maintenance Tech you must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with residents families staff community resources and visitors.
Candidates should have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative environment.

Education / Experience:
The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences and readily to generate and maintain rapport with others.
Graduation from grammar school and three years of progressive experience in the performance of tasks associated with the assigned trades or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Must have working knowledge of the methods practices tools and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings equipment and machinery required.
Must have working knowledge of low-pressure heating and cooling equipment.
Ability to understand and work from sketches work orders or penciled drawings.
Ability to operate the more common types of machine shop equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot appliances and work on hospital beds and medical equipment.
Skilled in repairing painting walls and ceilings
Required Experience:
IC
