This position takes directions from a facilities maintenance manager supervisor or lead. Incumbent in this position is eligible to participate in the Bloodborne Pathogen a member of a bargaining unit this position follows a seniority-based system for bidding on shifts and days Functions:Operates and maintains heavy floor care equipment used in scrubs strips and polishes floors; shampoos basic preventive maintenance services and lawn maintenance around bus shelters and bus stops (trims trees edges and picksup trash).Sets up furniture and prepares rooms for special and arranges furniture and office light bulbs and fluorescent interior and exterior of other duties as may be required or Qualifications:High School diploma or General Education diploma (GED); plusOne year of fulltime experience performing custodial work to include floor care; plusSix months of experience painting the interior and exterior of buildings or a combination of related education experience and possess and maintain a valid Florida drivers license and safe driving Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of basic lawn maintenance and associated of custodial and floor care methods materials equipment and safety to work with minimal supervision; must be selfmotivated and able to work to read write speak and understand to understand and carry out oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with thoseencountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer to exhibit a professional courteous to work in a diverse Environment and Special Considerations:Will be available to workdays nights weekends and outside in varying weather a service vehicle both automatic and standard is eligible to participate in the Bloodborne Pathogen provides the community with much needed public transportation and it is important for the Agency to resume its services as quickly and as safely as possible in the event of any natural technological or humancaused emergency or disaster.
