Job Summary
The Junior Project Manager Facilities is responsible for managing construction renovation and facility improvement projects from initiation through completion across assigned Vertiv manufacturing and office locations. This position ensures projects are completed within the approved scope schedule and budget while meeting applicable quality building code and safety requirements.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager this role serves as a primary liaison among internal stakeholders architects engineers contractors subcontractors and suppliers. The position coordinates project activities to support organizational goals while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction renovation and facility improvement projects from initiation through completion ensuring alignment with the approved scope schedule and budget.
- Develop and maintain project budgets timelines schedules and quality control plans.
- Provide project status updates and progress reports to internal stakeholders and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with internal customers to plan and execute construction and facility improvement projects.
- Maintain commercial oversight of projects including budgets change orders payment applications and project-related costs.
- Serve as a liaison among internal customers contractors subcontractors suppliers architects engineers electricians and other project specialists.
- Conduct site surveys and facilitate project coordination meetings.
- Plan and coordinate all phases of the construction lifecycle ensuring established milestones and deliverables are completed on time.
- Ensure projects remain aligned with approved plans scope documents and stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local state and national building codes regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration construction safety standards.
- Use project scheduling and management software to maintain schedules track progress and document project activities.
- Coordinate with Facilities and Operations teams to minimize disruption to production and other ongoing business activities.
- Maintain complete project documentation including drawings specifications contracts requests for information submittals and project closeout packages.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Construction Science and Management Construction Engineering Architecture Engineering or a related field. Commensurate professional experience may be considered in place of a bachelors degree.
- Three to five years of experience managing construction or facility improvement projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods materials and applicable building codes.
- Proficiency with project scheduling and management software such as Procore Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Experience managing project budgets change orders contractor payment applications and other commercial aspects of construction projects.
- Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to a fast-paced business environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external business partners.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during site visits and project walkthroughs.
- Ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders when conducting construction site inspections.
- Ability to drive a car van or truck between project locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional certification.
- Certified Facility Manager certification.
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
- Experience managing projects within industrial or manufacturing facility environments.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling.
- Understanding of construction contract types including lump-sum cost-plus and Guaranteed Maximum Price contracts.
- Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 25% travel may be required including travel between project sites.
