- The Co-op term is from January to December 2026.
- Full time requirement (40 hours per week).
The Facilities Engineering Co-Op will support the Facilities and Engineering team in identifying and implementing process improvements that increase efficiency reduce cycle time lower costs and improve overall operational performance. Under the guidance of a mentor the co-op will contribute to engineering maintenance reliability and continuous improvement initiatives within the facility while ensuring compliance with safety environmental and quality standards.
- Supporting projects focused on improving process efficiency quality and operational excellence using project management methodologies.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities through Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Assisting with engineering projects concept development design activities and implementation efforts as applicable.
- Preparing reports presentations and technical documentation to communicate project results.
- Evaluating current practices and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conducting gap assessments to identify deficiencies in procedures and compliance with established standards.
- Supporting maintenance asset management and reliability programs to enhance equipment performance and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on facility-related initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental health safety and occupational regulations including ISO 14001 and applicable company policies.
- Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Completion of undergraduate freshman year at an accredited university is required.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word).
- Experience using engineering schematics technical drawings or CAD software is preferred.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Availability to work onsite in San Lorenzo Puerto Rico on a full-time co-op schedule.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma Continuous Improvement or Reliability Engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with maintenance management asset management or facility operations.
- Project management experience through academic extracurricular or work-related projects.
- Experience analyzing data and developing process improvement recommendations.
