We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Facilities Assistant to help keep our buildings clean safe organized and running smoothly. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of our two locations while also assisting with general maintenance needs.

- Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm set schedule.

Facilities Assistant Responsibilities
- Sweep mop scrub and vacuum offices hallways breakrooms meeting rooms and work areas.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces windows doors restrooms and common areas.
- Empty waste and recycling and ensure materials are disposed of appropriately.
- Restock soap hand sanitizer paper towels toilet paper and other supplies.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and help receive stock and distribute supplies between locations.
- Assist with maintaining outdoor areas and picking up debris.
- Move office furniture and equipment within and between buildings as needed.
- Assist with general maintenance projects at both Merrick locations.
- Communicate with outside vendors as needed.
- Safely use cleaning products and equipment and follow applicable safety procedures.
Facilities Assistant Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- 612 months of janitorial custodial or related experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products.
- Dependable organized and able to work independently.
- Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of cleaning and maintenance needs.
- Basic ability to use electronic devices databases and internet-based applications.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe clean and welcoming environment.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position including standing walking bending kneeling reaching and pushing or pulling equipment and materials.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening following a conditional job offer.
