Fabricator
At Total Security Solutions our Fabricators build the steel components that go into bullet-resistant barriers protecting real people in banks schools courthouses and government buildings across the country. This is a multifaceted role one day youre welding the next youre running the water jet cutting on the plasma table or dialing in a compound miter. The steel you shape stands between danger and the people on the other side of the glass.
What youll do
Youll work across our West Sacramento steel shop doing a little bit of everything to fabricate custom ballistic barrier components. Day to day that means:
- Fabricating and welding steel components frames brackets supports reinforcements and subassemblies to design specs
- Running the water jet plasma cutter and cutting torch for precision cuts and clean fit-ups
- Operating saws grinders drill presses chop saws band saws impact drivers and the rest of the shops metalworking tools
- Measuring marking and cutting steel accurately with calipers tape measures squares and protractors
- Reading blueprints and project drawings then making mitered beveled and compound-angle cuts with confidence
- Moving between stations as the floor needs you this is a team shop and the best days are the ones where everyone pitches in
If you want to learn multiple stations instead of being boxed into one this is the job for you. Our product is unlike anything youve worked with before come willing to work hard and stay curious and well teach you everything you need to know to master it.
Youll fit right in if you
- Have hands-on experience with metal fabrication welding or shop machinery or a real hunger to learn it
- Like variety and want to cross-train across welding water jet plasma cutting and more
- Can read a tape measure work from blueprints and handle fractions and decimals in your head
- Are comfortable with power tools and precision instruments and take pride in a clean accurate cut
- Can lift 50 lbs and dont mind a loud dusty temperature-changing shop
- Bring perfectionism and hustle you sweat the details and you move with urgency
- Like to learn like to help and like being part of a crew that has each others backs
CNC machining/programming or MasterCAM experience is a plus. Prior steel fabrication or shop experience is preferred but the right attitude matters most.
