Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator / Assembler to join our team at the Cedar Park Manufacturing this role you will support the fabrication and assembly of precision-engineered enclosure products from preparing raw materials through final mechanical assembly. You will work closely with Fabrication Welding Paint and Production teams to ensure safe efficient and high-quality manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare raw sheet metal for fabrication including measuring marking deburring and material staging.
- Operate fabrication equipment including shears band saws drill presses Time Saver equipment and spot welders.
- Perform spot welding operations per engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Assemble sheet metal enclosures using hardware fasteners hinges latches and gaskets.
- Inspect components for workmanship and dimensional accuracy during fabrication and assembly.
- Follow NOV HSE policies and maintain a clean organized work area using 5S principles.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority for unsafe conditions or quality concerns.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist with material handling and component preparation for fabrication and welding operations.
- Complete production documentation accurately and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in manufacturing fabrication mechanical assembly or a related industrial environment.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic dimensional measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings blueprints and work instructions.
- Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to accurately read a tape measure use basic precision measuring tools and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand walk bend and work on concrete floors for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to working safely and following all NOV Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies.
- Willingness to cross-train in fabrication assembly and other manufacturing operations.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating Time Saver (wide belt sander) equipment.
- Experience performing resistance/spot welding.
- Experience assembling sheet metal enclosures.
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience or certification.
- Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing or 5S environment.
- Experience using ERP systems such as JDE.
