Job Summary

seeking a highly experienced Senior F5 Architect (LTM/GTM) to support a strategic secondary data center deployment and enable active-active connectivity failover and disaster recovery capabilities across geographically distributed Equinix facilities.

The ideal candidate will serve as the lead F5 subject matter expert and architect providing guidance on F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) Global Traffic Manager (GTM/DNS) high-availability architectures configuration migration disaster recovery planning and operational readiness. This consultant will partner closely with network cloud infrastructure security and application teams to deliver a scalable and resilient enterprise traffic management solution supporting cloud connectivity VPN services internet traffic proxying and business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and evaluate the current F5 environment across multiple enterprise facilities.

Review existing F5 BIG-IP LTM configurations and support migration cleanup replication validation and optimization activities.

Evaluate the need for F5 GTM/DNS and provide architectural recommendations for DNS design traffic steering failover disaster recovery and active-active operations.

Design and support highly available traffic management solutions for cloud connectivity internet access VPN services and enterprise application traffic flows.

Document current-state and future-state architectures and provide detailed implementation recommendations.

Analyze and document traffic patterns across user-to-application application-to-application internet and cloud-connected environments.

Develop configuration migration and validation plans that minimize operational risk and avoid service interruptions.

Collaborate with network cloud infrastructure security and application stakeholders to ensure implementation readiness.

Develop operational documentation including:

Architecture diagrams

Traffic flow documentation

Standard operating procedures

Runbooks

Configuration procedures

Replication processes

Support and maintenance documentation

Provide ongoing knowledge transfer and mentoring to internal technical teams throughout the engagement.

Support implementation planning that maintains business continuity and operational stability.

Required Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM).

Proven experience migrating replicating cleaning up and validating enterprise F5 configurations.

Strong background supporting highly available load-balancing environments with disaster recovery requirements.

Experience designing and planning F5 GTM/DNS implementations.

Deep understanding of:

Traffic management

Virtual servers

Pools and pool members

Health monitors

SSL profiles and certificates

Routing and traffic flow design

High availability and failover mechanisms

Experience supporting cloud-connected and hybrid network architectures.

Ability to assess existing environments and provide strategic architecture recommendations.

Strong troubleshooting analytical and documentation skills.

Experience performing technical knowledge transfer and operational handoff activities.

Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment while collaborating effectively with customer stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing and implementing active-active multi-site architectures.

Experience supporting multi-site failover and disaster recovery solutions.

Familiarity with Equinix-hosted environments and network edge infrastructure.

Experience supporting cloud connectivity internet proxy and VPN environments.

Experience supporting SAP or other mission-critical enterprise applications.

Experience guiding customers through GTM requirement assessments and architecture decisions.

Proven ability to collaborate across networking cloud infrastructure security and application teams in complex enterprise environments. What success looks like in first 30-60 days

Successful completion of the engagement will include:

Delivery of clear current-state and future-state F5 architecture documentation.

Successful migration cleanup replication and validation of LTM configurations.

Completion of GTM assessment with a documented design recommendation and implementation path.

Documented active-active and disaster recovery strategy.

Delivery of operational documentation diagrams procedures and runbooks.

Effective knowledge transfer to customer support and operations teams.

Implementation planning that minimizes risk and avoids service disruptions.
