The Extended Day Program Manager role manages the day-to-day administration staff supervision and program quality of CMIs academic support and after-school enrichment offerings. The Extended Day Program Manager ensures that all students receive a safe structured and engaging experience that reflects CMIs internationally-minded values and commitment to the whole child.Reporting to the Director of Family Engagement the Extended Day Program Manager serves as the primary operational leader of the extended day program and a central point of contact for families extended day staff and the broader school community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership & Operations
Oversee the full daily operations of CMIs extended day program spanning academic support hours (10:00 AM 3:00 PM) before-school care (7:15 AM - 8:15 AM) and after-school care (3:00 PM 6:00 PM)
Design implement and continuously improve program schedules enrichment activities and academic reinforcement blocks aligned with CMIs international (IEYC/IPC/IMYC) curriculum framework
Develop and manage program policies procedures and operational systems to ensure consistency compliance and quality
Maintain accurate student enrollment attendance and dismissal records.
Ensure all program spaces are safe organized and set up to support a positive learning environment
Coordinate snack nutrition and logistics in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
Manage program registration billing and collections operations including family accounts payment tracking and resolution of outstanding balances
Staff Supervision & Development
Directly supervise Program Assistants and any additional extended day staff and program partners (contractors) providing ongoing coaching feedback and performance evaluation
Lead regular team meetings professional development sessions and onboarding for new program staff
Build a collaborative accountable team culture grounded in CMIs mission and student-centered values
Manage scheduling coverage and staffing logistics to maintain program ratios and continuity
Partner with school leadership to identify staffing needs and support hiring and onboarding for the extended day team
Family & Community Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding extended day programming enrollment scheduling and concerns
Communicate proactively with families through newsletters updates and direct outreach in collaboration with the Director of Family Engagement
Maintain a welcoming responsive presence at daily pick-up and program transitions
Support the Director of Family Engagement in coordinating family-facing events orientations and engagement initiatives tied to the program
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure program operations comply with all applicable health and safety standards and CMI policies
Manage program documentation including incident reports emergency contacts allergy and health records and attendance logs
Track program data and outcomes preparing regular reports for school leadership as requested
Support grant reporting and funder documentation related to extended day programming as needed
School Community
Collaborate closely with the Director of Family Engagement Head of School Principals and instructional team to align extended day programming with school priorities
Participate in school-wide staff meetings leadership convenings and professional development
Uphold all CMI community expectations policies and confidentiality obligations
Serve as a positive visible presence in the school community modeling the schools values and culturally responsive practices
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelors degree in Education Child Development Human Services Nonprofit Management or a related field
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a school-based program youth development or related setting with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or team lead capacity
Demonstrated ability to manage program operations and lead a diverse staff team
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to equity culturally responsive practice and student-centered program design
Ability to pass a background check
Proficiency with Google Workspace Microsoft Office and basic student data or records systems
Preferred
Experience in a charter school international school or multilingual/multicultural educational setting
Familiarity with IPC IMYC IEYC or similar internationally-focused curriculum frameworks
Bilingual proficiency (Spanish is a plus)
CPR/First Aid/Administration of Medication certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
Experience supporting students with IEPs 504 plans or diverse learning needs
Knowledge of DC OSSE child care licensing requirements and youth program compliance standards
