The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing repairing and rebuilding Ford automatic and manual transmissions along with a strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Ford certification is required but experienced transmission technicians with a proven track record are encouraged to apply.

Transmission Technician Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Ford automatic and manual transmission systems
• Perform transmission overhauls rebuilds replacements and related driveline repairs
• Use Ford diagnostic equipment and service information to accurately identify concerns
• Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs according to Ford standards
• Perform road tests to verify concerns and ensure repairs are completed properly
• Inspect and diagnose driveline transfer case differential and related components
• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic findings and repairs performed
• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and Shop Foremen regarding repair recommendations and completion timelines
• Stay current on Ford technical service bulletins recalls and repair procedures
• Maintain a clean safe and organized work area

Qualifications

• Previous Ford dealership experience preferred
• Ford transmission experience required
• Ford STST or Senior Master Certification preferred
• ASE certifications are a plus
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Ford IDS FDRS and diagnostic equipment preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to learn new technology repair procedures and manufacturer specifications
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
