Summary
Works in the application of physical activity and behavioral intervention for those with clinical disease and health conditions thathave been shown to provide therapeutic and/or functional benefits. Provides exercise screening exercise and physical fitnesstesting exercise and health education/promotion measurement and evaluation of exercise and physical activity relatedoutcomes measures.

Job Duties

• Documents necessary information in the patients medical record including data management and qualityindicators for the individualized treatment plan (ITP).
• Monitors patients throughout exercise training sessions including vital signs and ECG monitored exercise whenappropriate.
• Applies extensive knowledge of functional anatomy exercise physiology pathophysiology electrocardiographyhuman behavior gerontology and graded exercise testing in the clinical setting.
• Interprets and explains assessment results and develops individualized exercise prescriptions
• Provides exercise and health education/promotion and councils patients on lifestyle modification.
• Participates and supports the supervision and onboarding of new employees and student interns.
• Develops an individualized exercise plan/program for the patient for home.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree Exercise Physiology
• Ability to develop an individualized exercise prescription for cardiac pulmonary and vascular patients based on clinicalresults of assessment and/or exercise stress test.
• Ability to evaluate the patients responses to exercise conditioning.
• Demonstrates strong educational teaching abilities for patient education both individual and group.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of cardiac risk factors and lifestyle modifications.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree Exercise Physiology
• ACSM-Cert Tr-Exer Spec-Hlth-Fit Inst-Exer Phys - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force) lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patients weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling bending squatting and performing CPR.
