Job Summary

The Executive Protection Specialist provides discreet professional protection for designated executives and other assigned individuals. The role conducts threat and vulnerability assessments performs protective advances coordinates secure transportation and travel delivers close protection at offices residences meetings events and public appearances. The specialist maintains situational awareness responds to emergency risks in real time and coordinates with internal partners contracted security providers emergency responders and law enforcement to safeguard people while minimizing disruption to business activities.

Works with appropriate independence with established security protocols and exercises sound judgement when conditions require immediate action. Communicates sensitive information clearly and on a need-to-know basis maintains strict confidentiality and documents incidents accurately. Demonstrates integrity accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards values and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute executive protection assignments for designated principals in accordance with established protocols and approved risk levels.
  • Conduct protective intelligence reviews threat and vulnerability assessments and site advances for offices residences hotels meetings events and travel destinations.
  • Develop movement route arrival departure safe-room evacuation medical-response and contingency plans; adjust plans when conditions change.
  • Provide discreet close protection during ground transportation meetings public appearances corporate events and other assigned activities.
  • Coordinate itineraries and protective requirements with chiefs of staff executive assistants corporate security facilities travel partners drivers venues contracted security providers and law enforcement.
  • Inspect vehicles venues access points and protective equipment; identify hazards security gaps and suspicious activity and take appropriate preventive action.
  • Monitor relevant threat information and maintain situational awareness before and during assignments escalating credible concerns through established channels.
  • Respond to medical safety security and other emergencies; initiate protective movement evacuation first aid or requests for emergency assistance as appropriate.
  • Prepare timely accurate assignment plans daily activity logs incident reports and after-action reviews; protect confidential and sensitive information.
  • Maintain required licenses certifications training equipment readiness and proficiency in protective procedures communications and emergency response.
  • Support corporate security programs and other security-related duties as assigned within the scope of training authorization and applicable law.
  • Design implement and continuously improve a standardized reporting system for all executive protection assignments.
  • Identify trends or recurring issues and recommend preventative measures to reduce operational risk.
  • Perform other duties as required including support for other security related issues.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of executive protection principles protective advances threat and vulnerability assessment route planning access control emergency response and incident reporting.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to identify assess communicate and respond to changing risks without unnecessary disruption.
  • Sound judgment discretion confidentiality and composure when handling sensitive information and operating in high-pressure or rapidly changing conditions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to coordinate with executives executive support staff internal teams vendors emergency responders and law enforcement.
  • Ability to use de-escalation conflict-management and customer-service techniques while maintaining a professional and unobtrusive presence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively follow protective protocols and make timely decisions within assigned authority.
  • Strong planning organization attention to detail prioritization and report-writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and job-related security communication travel and reporting applications including Genetec and Smartsheet where applicable.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and use radios mobile devices and other assigned protective equipment.
  • Flexibility to work nonstandard hours remain on call when scheduled and travel on short notice based on protective requirements.

Education & Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 10 year of executive protection dignitary protection law enforcement military protective service or a closely related security field; an equivalent combination of relevant education training and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting protective advances threat and vulnerability assessments secure movement planning and close-protection assignments.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to satisfy applicable company driving standards.
  • Current first aid CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain within the timeframe established by the company.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all licenses registrations permits and qualifications required for assigned duties and work locations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and travel domestically or internationally when assigned.

Preferred

  • Certificate or associate degree in criminal justice security management emergency management or a related field.
  • Master TCOLE certificate or comparable advanced law-enforcement credential when relevant to the candidates background.
  • Formal executive-protection or dignitary-protection training.
  • Prior experience protecting corporate executives in domestic and international environments.
  • Defensive or advanced driver training and experience coordinating secure ground transportation.
  • Advanced medical-response training beyond basic first aid CPR and AED.
  • Experience with protective intelligence security technology and corporate incident-management systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Location

  • This position is based in the BKV Fort Worth Texas office and performs duties at corporate facilities residences hotels event venues airports and other assigned locations.
  • Some travel (up to 30%) may be required to conduct investigations.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in office vehicle event residential airport hotel and outdoor environments with varying noise lighting weather crowd and traffic conditions.
  • The role may require extended shifts early mornings evenings weekends holidays schedule changes and on-call availability.
  • Assignments may involve prolonged periods of travel driving standing walking observation and remaining alert with limited opportunity for unscheduled breaks.
  • The employee may encounter emergencies distressed individuals aggressive behavior or other potentially hazardous conditions and must follow training safety protocols and established use-of-force and escalation requirements.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands

  • Lift carry push or pull luggage protective equipment emergency supplies and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently stand walk scan the environment communicate and move through offices venues crowds stairs curbs and uneven outdoor surfaces.
  • Sit for extended periods and operate or ride in a motor vehicle for prolonged assignments.
  • Move quickly and take protective action during an emergency including assisting or guiding another person to a safer location.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate radios mobile devices vehicle controls access-control devices and other assigned equipment.
  • Maintain visual and auditory awareness sufficient to observe surroundings monitor communications identify hazards and respond to alarms or instructions.
  • Perform duties outdoors and in varying weather conditions and tolerate changes in temperature noise lighting and crowd density.
  • Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
