Executive Director for Citizenship and Service Academic Integration (TAMU Internal Search)

The Office of the Provost invites applications for the faculty administrative appointment ofExecutive Directorfor Citizenship and ServiceAcademic Integration. The Executive Directorfor Citizenship and ServiceAcademic Integration holds a 50% appointment in the faculty members home college and a 50% administrative appointment in the Office of Citizenship and Service within the Division of Academic Affairs.

This position provides strategic leadership to advance the integration of citizenship service and ethical leadership in Texas A&M Universitys curriculum. The roleis responsible forleading and coordinating the development refinement resourcing and assessment ofrigorous scalable and faculty-groundedacademic opportunities related to citizenshipand service andengaging and supporting faculty across disciplines through processes that are collaborativeand participatory.

This position also contributes to assisting the Associate Vice President for Citizenship and Service with translating and aligning this work with external stakeholders to ensure its broader credibility and impact. The Executive Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Citizenship and Service.

Essential Duties:

• Lead engagement with internal faculty stakeholders building relationships and structuring processes explicitly oriented toward buy-in and shared ownership.
• Rooted in scholarly frameworks faculty expertise and integrated into existing (assessed) curricula assist in developing a rigorous micro-credentialing process for students desiring recognition for investing in civic preparedness.
• Lead the creation adaptation and dissemination of academic modules focused on citizenship service and ethical reasoning for use in courses across undergraduate and graduate programs in coordination with faculty and academic units.
• Develop and implement assessment strategies for student learning outcomes related to citizenship and service; ensuring alignment between assessment practices and credentialing and collect and analyze faculty and student feedback for continuous improvement.
• Serve as an advocate and subject matter expert for academic integration of citizenship and service communicating initiatives outcomes and resources to academic units and supporting faculty adoption.
• Advance citizenship and service integration initiatives within the home college providing leadership and serving as a model for best practices.
• Maintain active teaching research and service responsibilities as assigned by home college or department.

Other:

• Upon appointment an MoA will be developed between Academic Affairs and the home department.
• The role is expected to work collaboratively across departments and colleges to effectively implement and refine university-wide initiatives including in coordination with units developing and implementing strategic priorities.
• The person in this role must have both the intellectual breadth and humility to understand and appreciate what has already been developed and the relational and procedural skill to engage faculty and stakeholders in ways that refine strengthen and build shared ownership of the resulting work.

Required Education:

• Doctoral Degree

Required Experience:

• Tenured professor at Texas A&M University
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching curriculum development and academic leadership
• Record ofinterdisciplinary or cross-college collaboration

• Project management and organizational abilities
• Proven strategic planning skills
• Demonstrated ability to support and lead faculty in adopting new curricular innovations in a practical efficient and academically rigorous manner

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong history of collaboration accross the university including academic and administrative to develop and implement initiatives for the awarding of academic credit
• Experience scaling university-wide academic innovation
• Experience organizing and delivering faculty development and training
• Experience with micro-credentialing
• Experience with or strong interest in faculty-led curricular initiatives in citizenship service learning or community-engaged teaching and scholarship
• Experience in educational strategy and goal-setting
