Help Keep Pittsburghs Public Media Strong

Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting Corporation (PCBC) home to 90.5 WESA and 91.3 WESA is seeking a creative collaborative and highly organized professional to serve as our Events Manager.

The Events Manager will lead the planning coordination and execution of a diverse range of live events including concerts community gatherings fundraising events and special programs. This role will oversee all aspects of event production with a strong emphasis on artist booking talent relations contract negotiations and vendor coordination. Working collaboratively across departments and with community partners the Events Manager will play a key role in creating engaging experiences that strengthen connections between PCBC our audiences and the greater Pittsburgh community. This role will work collaboratively alongside the existing Events Manager with both positions reporting directly to the Director of Media Sales.

This position is primarily based in our Pittsburgh office with flexibility for remote work when job responsibilities and organization needs allow.

What Youll Do

Event Planning & Production

Oversee the development and production of high-quality live events. Manage event logistics productions schedules budgets venue coordination and on-site operations to ensure seamless execution and memorable audience experiences.

Artist Booking & Talent Relations

Manage all aspects of artist and talent booking for PCBC WYEP and WESA events including talent selection fee negotiations contracts and ongoing communications. Build and maintain strong relationships with performers talent representatives venues production partners and vendors to support successful events.

Internal Collaboration & Community Engagement

Collaborate across departments to align events with organizational goals audience engagement initiatives fundraising efforts and sponsorship commitments. Cultivate relationships with local organizations community partners and event stakeholders to strengthen PCBCs presence and impact throughout the Pittsburgh region.

Event Operation & Continuous Improvement

Maintain organized event calendars production plans budgets and documentation to ensure effective coordination and accountability. Support event staffing and volunteer coordination oversee event setup and teardown and evaluate event outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement and future growth.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in live event planning production or management.
  • 2 years of experience managing event production budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience booking talent negotiating contracts and coordinating with venues and production vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of Pittsburghs live music entertainment and events community.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with event management collaboration and social media tools.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as events require.
  • Ability to assist with physical event setup and teardown including lifting and transporting equipment.

Work Environment

This position is based in our Pittsburgh office. Standard business hours are 9:00-5:00 Monday through Friday with evening or weekend work as events require.

We provide competitive salaries in an affordable city. The minimum compensation for this position is $52000 commensurate with experience and ability.
