Job Summary
The Town of Granby is seeking part-time/as needed event monitors to assist with events in our event venues. Under the supervision of the Events Specialist the event monitor works on site at Holcomb Farm or at Salmon Brook Park for the duration of an event. They act as the primary contact for the renting party and are in charge of enforcing all rules and regulations regarding the rental and the property. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Opening and closing the facility and allow entry to renters guests vendors and others affiliated with the rental agreement.
- Walk through building and grounds before and after event to ensure cleanliness and monitor any damages.
- Remain on site for duration of the event as a point of contact.
- Assist group in facility uses including but not limited to heating air conditioning fire pit restrooms kitchen access bar access dumpster access etc.
- Move and/or set up tables and chairs for any day-of changes/additions.
- Empty garbage throughout the event and replace liners in can.
- Set up and break down of chairs benches and arches for certain events.
Qualified candidates will have a Commitment to excellence in customer service and have demonstrated skill in communicating effectively with a variety of individuals. Must have the ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies. Hour rate range is $19 - $21 depending on event worked. Recruitment is ongoing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand or sit; walk; talk or hear; hands and finger coordination handle feel or operate objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Work is typically performed in both a standard indoor environment and outdoor environment with potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
