Estimator Take-off Specialist with Blueprint and Software Expertise

As a detail-oriented Take-off Specialist you will analyze commercial HVAC mechanical plans identify necessary roof curbs adapters and accessories and generate precise material lists and price quotes. Your proficiency with take-off software such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift will enhance accuracy and efficiency in project estimations.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive take-offs from commercial mechanical (M-series) and architectural drawings.
• Cross-reference HVAC unit model numbers (Carrier Trane Lennox etc.) with specific curb/adapter footprints.
• Calculate material requirements including sheet metal gauge and insulation and labor to provide competitive accurate customer quotes.
• Collaborate with sales and production teams to ensure custom-manufactured parts meet project specifications.
• Maintain organized records of quotes and project details within internal tracking systems.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years in construction estimating HVAC parts distribution or sheet metal fabrication.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and construction drafts.
• Experience with take-off software (e.g. Bluebeam PlanSwift) is a major plus.
• Basic understanding of HVAC equipment and commercial roofing terminology.
• Ability to detect small discrepancies in prints that could lead to manufacturing errors.
