Estimator ManufacturingMachine Shop

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Estimator to join our company in Santa Clara CA.

Estimator Responsibilities:

• Manages customer request for quotation (RFQ) inquires reviews quotes and collects the necessary information to begin an estimation such as: drawings material pricing component pricing and outside cost pricing
• Reviews customer blue prints specifications and all relevant data to determine material and labor requirements
• Collaborates with the Manufacturing and Engineering departments to assess the companys readiness to perform product design and provides accurate and realistic estimates to customers
• Estimates labor material processing and other costs of manufacturing/engineering based on the request for proposal data submitted by customers
• Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for planning organizing scheduling work preparing bids selecting vendors or subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness
• Reviews material and labor requirements to determine whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components

Education/Experience:

• A. /B.S. in Business OR 5 10 years of experience in purchasing estimating machine shop environment or equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications:

• Must interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
• Advanced knowledge of pricing and materials needed to complete CNC programming manual machining mill and lathe machining activities
• Understanding of the processes and delivery lead times required for manufacturing parts
• Extremely detail-oriented and thorough in making sure all contractual obligations at time of RFQ are understood and accounted for
