About the Company

An established and growing specialty construction contractor based on the South Shore of Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their in-office team.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on estimating and preconstruction role for someone who is highly organized detail-oriented tech-savvy and comfortable taking ownership of their work. The successful candidate will manage a high volume of estimating opportunities from initial review through bid submission working closely with project management and field operations in a fast-paced collaborative office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review plans specifications contracts bid documents and customer requests to fully understand project scope and requirements
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam or comparable digital takeoff software
  • Research project requirements materials specifications and site conditions necessary to develop complete and competitive estimates
  • Identify missing or unclear information and proactively obtain clarification before gaps become problems
  • Prepare estimates proposals bid packages and supporting documentation
  • Obtain and maintain current vendor and subcontractor pricing material information and lead times
  • Assist with material planning supply coordination and inventory tracking for upcoming project needs
  • Manage multiple active estimates deadlines customer requests and follow-up activities simultaneously
  • Maintain accurate and organized estimating records vendor data inventory records and historical cost information
  • Collaborate with Project Management and field operations to support smooth handoffs on awarded projects
  • Contribute ideas that improve estimating purchasing inventory technology and operational workflows

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3 years of construction estimating bid coordination or closely related experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction estimates from initial review through final bid submission
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam or comparable digital takeoff software
  • Experience reviewing construction plans specifications contracts and scopes of work
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify scope gaps and project risks
  • Exceptional attention to detail accuracy and organizational discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities deadlines and interruptions without losing accuracy or momentum
  • Strong written verbal and computer skills with the ability to learn and adopt new technology platforms
  • Must be available to work full-time onsite on the South Shore of Massachusetts

Preferred:

  • Background in self-performed construction paving site work civil or roadway construction
  • Experience with public or prevailing wage projects
  • Familiarity with CRM systems vendor coordination material purchasing or inventory planning
