For over 125 years Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children youth adults seniors and those struggling with mental provides free English classes for individuals interested in learning the language. Students receive social services and legal referral information about U.S. citizenship and other immigration services. Trainings such as OSHA and First Aid help individuals in creating resumes and cover letters. At times Mock Job Interviews are provided to individuals allowing them to develop interview strategies as well as to enhance communication OF THE JOBThe E.S.L Instructor will be responsible to deliver the ESL classes and monitor and assure the progress of enrollees toward achieving the Program Performance targets and AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide Intake Assessment and Orientation for each and develop new resources and materials to enhance the teaching class instruction in BEST PLUS tests at intake and regularly thereafter to monitor and document enrollee Milestone performance files for each enrollee attendance. Follow-up with enrollees as needed to ensure their continued participation. Maintain office and recommend individualized curriculum needs for with students individually each cycle to review progress and need for additional and submit monthly reports on the enrollees and the program needs to the Program in Conferences trainings and staff in program duties and responsibilities as FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESBachelors Degree of ArtsSPECIFICATIONS FOR EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGTwo years experience teaching ESL to adults in a community based communication organizational literate including experience with all Microsoft Office software packages local area networks and the FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to work evenings and Saturdays as to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed between 5-10 to walk up and down to participate and willing to perform physical activities i.e. to talk hear see stand walk sit use hands & arms stoop kneel crouch & to read printed materials and computer hand manipulation (Keyboarding).Transportation time spent commuting between sites for meetings and to travel to multiple locations as :We offer competitive salaryFor more information on our organization please visit our website at: EOE/AA.
