Job Summary
The Roads Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy duty equipment and specialized equipment used in the maintenance and/or construction of roads bridges and dams and maybe required to perform other highway maintenance-type duties.
Duties Include:
- Operates graders & pipe cleaning machines;
- Operates various light to heavy duty trucks &other road repair and maintenance equipment;
- Performs manual labor & assists in the construction and maintenance of roads;
- Sprays herbicides;
- Assists with snow & ice removal;
- Flags for traffic control;
- Assists in the installation of pipes & pipelines;
- Trains other operators; and
- Performs other related work as required.
High School Diploma; 2 years of experience in highway maintenance operations/heavy equipment operations; Valid Class B Commercial Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement; Valid DOT Physical Card; Willingness to be on call 24/7 for emergency situations; Ability to pass background check and drug screening; And Ability to obtain the following certifications : Homeland Security Herbicide Spraying Forklift Flagger CPR & First Aid Fire Extinguisher and Roadside Tree Expert.
