Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced EPC Manager to oversee the commercial and contractual execution of major data center infrastructure projects. This role manages Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner relationships after contract award supporting construction delivery through closeout and warranty transition.

This is a senior individual contributor position focused on contract administration change orders progress payments claims resolution and commercial risk management. The EPC Manager will also oversee the contractual interface between owner-furnished mechanical and electrical equipment and EPC installation responsibilities.

Reporting to the Vice President of Grey Space Procurement this individual will work closely with construction engineering procurement project controls finance and legal teams to protect project schedules control costs and maintain clear accountability across contractors and equipment suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
EPC Contract Management
  • Manage executed EPC agreements from contract award through construction completion and closeout.
  • Review negotiate and resolve contractor change requests and owner-directed changes.
  • Track compliance with contractual requirements for scope schedule deliverables insurance bonding safety and reporting.
  • Review progress payment applications against schedules of values completed work and stored materials.
  • Coordinate lien waivers retainage final payments and contractual documentation.
  • Manage claims disputes back-charges and liquidated damages matters maintaining clear records of decisions and contractual positions.
Owner-Furnished Equipment Coordination
  • Serve as the commercial liaison between owner-furnished mechanical and electrical equipment purchases and EPC installation scope.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery milestones with procurement and construction teams to support installation sequencing.
  • Identify and escalate delivery delays or contractual gaps that could affect project cost or schedule.
  • Clarify responsibility for receiving offloading storage installation shortages damage and warranty obligations.
  • Resolve commercial issues involving equipment manufacturers freight carriers EPC partners and the owner.
Cost and Commercial Risk Management
  • Maintain visibility into pending changes contractual exposure forecasted cost to complete and unresolved commercial risks.
  • Partner with project controls finance and legal teams on cost reporting forecasting and issue resolution.
  • Review requests for information submittals and design changes for potential cost and contractual impacts.
  • Address scope gaps and emerging disputes early to limit cost growth and schedule disruption.
Closeout and Warranty
  • Drive commercial closeout including punch list obligations final payments retainage release lien resolution and warranty documentation.
  • Coordinate the transition of EPC and equipment warranties to the operations team.
  • Ensure warranty terms responsibilities and supporting records are complete and enforceable.
Required Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in EPC contract administration construction contracts management or owner-side commercial management for capital projects.
  • Direct responsibility for post-award administration of EPC EPCM design-build or comparable construction agreements valued at $50 million or more.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical infrastructure with the ability to evaluate scope changes and claims alongside contractors and engineers.
  • Demonstrated success resolving change orders claims disputes and back-charges.
  • Strong understanding of progress billing schedules of values stored materials retainage lien waivers and earned value.
  • Ability to independently interpret and administer construction agreements general conditions exhibits and change management provisions.
  • Bachelors degree in construction management engineering finance business or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data centers mission-critical facilities semiconductor facilities or heavy industrial construction.
  • Familiarity with Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed (OFCI) and Contractor-Furnished Contractor-Installed (CFCI) delivery models.
  • Knowledge of major infrastructure equipment including chillers cooling towers air-handling systems generators switchgear UPS systems and paralleling gear.
  • Experience with Procore Kahua e-Builder or similar construction management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable ERP systems for purchase orders and payments.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certification.
