Work Location: Position is located at Atlanta. Position requires being in the office or on a client site Monday through Thursday. Opportunity to work remotely on Fridays. Position is typically 10-25% travel but can be higher on occasions.
Job Overview:
Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in environmental science Environmental Engineering or a related field. 3-7 Years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance. Preferred Qualifications: Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission certification as an inspector design professional or plan reviewer.
Responsibilities: The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for overseeing environmental permitting and compliance for water programs. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations minimize environmental impacts and drive sustainable practices. This position requires working knowledge of construction stormwater Best Management Practices and erosdion and sedimentation controls.
Environmental Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with federal state and local environmental regulations specifically water quality stormwater and erosion and sedimentation controls. Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Experience: Strong knowledge of federal state and local environmental regulations and permitting processes. Experience with the federal Clean Water Act the Georgia Water Quality Act Georgias NPDES Storm Water Discharge General Permits and the Georgia Erosion & Sedimentation Act. Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders.
