Environmental Services Technician

As our Environmental Services Technician youll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.

Every day you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping mopping or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers paper towel dispensers and other supplies as well as deliver clean linens.

• Cleans and sanitizes all patient and ancillary departments offices and public areas.
• Cleans assigned areas by washing walls doors door frames ceiling patient and non-patient furniture fans vents fixtures floors carpets and windows.
• Cleans assigned areas within the given eight-hour period. Selects and prepares proper chemical solution for all jobs. Compliance must meet department cleaning standards.
• Collects and transports infectious chemo pharmaceutical and pathological waste in special waste containers.
• Collects processes and disposes of trash and linen throughout the facility. Compliance will be met at 100% as per Universal Precautions and Glove Policy.
• Maintains janitors carts/closets stocked and neat. Compliance will be met at 100%.

• Knowledge of basic environmental services practices and procedures and safety standards.
• Proper handling and disposal of infectious waste proper safety skills in handling of environmental services chemicals and equipment and basic floor and carpet care practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience.
