Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Technician youll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.

Every day you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping mopping or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers paper towel dispensers and other supplies as well as deliver clean linens.

A well-maintained facility with compassionate staff brings comfort and peace of mind to patients their loved ones and all who serve here.

  • Performs daily occupied discharge and transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas equipment and common spaces in accordance with healthcare environmental services standards.
  • Follows infection prevention safety risk management and HIPAA guidelines including proper PPE use hand hygiene isolation precautions and waste stream handling procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare cleaning principles safe chemical usage and proper operation and maintenance of EVS equipment and tools.
  • Maintains cleaning carts supplies and equipment while ensuring work areas meet cleanliness safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborates with the patient care team applies critical thinking and accountability and resolves concerns using appropriate resources and communication.
  • Supports departmental and facility operations through performance improvement initiatives mentoring new staff and assisting with additional facility needs such as conference room setups stairwells elevators and cubicle curtain changes.

Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.


Preferred

  • High School Graduate General Studies and Previous healthcare experience.
  • High School GED General Studies and Previous healthcare experience.
