Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Service Specialty Technician at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center you will help provide specialized cleaning services in the surgical services suite. This is achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning disinfecting and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients visitors and staff. Other responsibilities may also include work in the Environmental Services Technician classification.

Every day you will maintain a clean and safe environment within the hospital with a primary focus on floor care and specialized cleaning in the surgical services suite.

To be successful in this role you must be proficient in floor care and disinfection strictly follow safety protocols and maintain a proactive thorough approach. You must also communicate effectively with hospital staff prioritize patient privacy and demonstrate strong personal accountability.

  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of specialty units & equipment
  • Responsible for completing as assigned performs all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility
    including hard surfaces and carpeting
  • Maintains accurate floor care logs and checklists
  • Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements proper and safe chemical use equipment handling and labor saving products for all items within the specialty environment tasked with servicing
  • Operates all equipment with care and according to facility and manufacturers safety standards and procedures

  • Floor care experience
  • Previous healthcare experience
