Who are we looking for

At GHD we are looking for a Environmental Field Technicianto join the US West Mining Team working on site in Miami-Globe Arizona area. The position will provide full-time field support on a project in Miami Arizona but might be asked to cover other projects in Arizona and the US West once the Miami project ends. You will engage with team members and contractors and be largely responsible for your own work. Duties will evolve with experience and no day will be just like the last.

In this role you will coordinate and perform field investigation activities to characterize and/or remediate cleanup facilities to achieve regulatory closure. This role will allow you to compile and interpret data in comparison to the environmental regulatory standards and prepare technical correspondence including reports and proposals.

Responsibilities: Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • HealthSafetyandEnvironment:Followtheorganizationshealthsafetyand environment (HSE) policies procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in
  • theworkplace;instructtheteaminsafeworkingmethods;identifyinstancesof riskybehaviorswithintheteamandtakeappropriateactionescalatingserious issues as appropriate.
  • Personal Capability Building:Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Testing:Perform a broad range of tests requiring detailed assessment measurement and judgment.
  • Solutions Analysis: Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes procedures and precedents.
  • Operational Compliance: Develop working knowledge of the organizations policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
  • Waste Management: Carry out operational waste management tasks by following established processes.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts aiding in the quick and accurate identification analysis and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of environmental and/or soil sampling experience preferred
  • Must be located in the Miami-Globe AZ area
  • Must be able to work in the field 5 days per week
  • Sufficient physical flexibility stamina and balance to perform bending reaching kneeling climbing walking over rough terrain and lifting or moving up to 40 pounds. Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in outdoor desert environments and elements including changing site conditions etc.
  • Valid drivers license required
  • OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training preferred
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work 100% of the time
  • Positive and collaborative work style.
  • Ability to work in a team and take direction.

Hourly rate: $31.00-$52.00 per hour based on experience
