Environmental EngineerOglethorpe GAPay Rate:$92700 - $113300Multiple factors including Individual experience skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay Salaried Full-Time About The Role:The Mill Environmental Engineer position will report to the Mill Environmental position will support GCF and mill performance and environmental goals by managing day-to-day environmental and sustainability responsibilities for the mill and providing leadership and strategic vision to drive continuous environmental improvement. This position will guarantee the appropriate internal mill resources are identified and readily accessible to accomplish regulatory and corporate requirements and initiatives. This position is a key position within the mills EHS team and will take the leadership role on all environmental matters (from environmental incident elimination to new capital program project reviews/implementation and implementation of comprehensive environmental management system expectations) to ensure all regulatory and company expectations are met. The position should serve as the mills point person to likewise address and respond to Sustainability questionnaires and data collection as well as external regulatory association advocacy within the State networking with other mills and corporate environmental subject matter experts as individual will need to possess leadership skills be action oriented with a drive for results be able to learn and adjust quickly be adept at building effective teams and be able to set priorities based on the mill needs working closely with appropriate mill and business key accountabilities listed below are not to be considered all-inclusive; a team member may be required to perform additional tasks as directed based on changing business needs of the company. Serve as a technical expert for Environmental compliance for Mill business units. Identify assess and recommend approaches to ensure the Mill maintains compliance and resolve potential non-compliance in a timely and cost-effective manner engaging key stakeholders throughout. Serve as mills back-up ISO 14001 representative. Manage and compile environmental compliance reports and permit renewals for the following permits: Title V Air Permit NPDES Permit Groundwater Withdrawal Permit Surface Water Withdrawal Permit Storm Water Permit Solid Waste Handling Permit and Potable Water Permit. Manages data gathering calculations and daily follow-ups pertaining to environmental compliance testing and reporting. Update environmental procedures and provide environmental training as as Contractor Coordinator for the mill environmental contractors. Perform a variety of engineering work in designing installing operating and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of pollutants involving air land and continuous and deliberate improvement including systems development to ensure compliance and prevent environmental strategies for the Mill to achieve Company Business and Mill objectives including Sustainability support during development and implementation of regulatory compliance projects and and utilize employee engagement to achieve desired with permit writers and enforcement agents of state and federal regulatory with corporate leaders and Subject Matter resources such as consultants and/or salaried staff as required to prepare accurate and timely compliance reports and of emerging environmental on environmental weekend rotation team. Quality ExpectationsEnsure an understanding of quality policy and support efforts for a positive customer experience. Aid in the execution of mill-wide quality efforts as needed to help maintain mill quality You: Knowledge Skills and Abilities Bachelors degree in science engineering environmental sciences/management or related of 3-5 years environmental experience in a manufacturing environment required forest products industry with regulatory & electronic reporting systems (e.g. CDX CEDRI EGRET GEOS).Title V compliance experience in a manufacturing environment to include completion of ACC GHG Emission Inventory LDAR and SARA 312 & 313 reporting. Strong mathematical skills specifically related to air emissions calculations. Experience in developing and submitting Title V amendments 502b10 Air Model Updates and other permits to support capital project record of success in working in a team of managing multiple concurrent computer skills in common applications i.e. Microsoft Word and written/verbal communication skills; presentation and training delivery knowledge of regulatory Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF):Our GCF business helps customers transform renewable cellulose fibers into essential everyday products.
