TheMechanicsburg PA and Philadelphia PA offices of Modjeski and Mastersarelooking for Entry Level Engineers interested in Movable Bridge Design.

What Were Looking For
  • At minimum a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from anABET accredited College or University; MS in Civil Engineering is Preferred
    • Transcripts may be requested
  • A valid EI certification or in the process of obtaining.
  • Courseworkin Bridge Design Structural Steel Design Reinforced Concrete Design FiniteElement Modeling
  • Basic knowledge of computer assisted drafting and design.
What Youll Do
  • Ability to use standard engineering analysis software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers project managers supervisor and other team members and
  • Ability to effectively receive and convey ideas and information orally and in writing with co-workers project managers supervisors and other team members.
  • Review and check standard structural design calculations.
  • Perform limited structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using general analysis software client-specific software and in-house programs under direct guidance from project managers and senior-level engineers.
  • Perform limited on-site structural assessments and inspections.
  • Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans directly related to design work.
  • Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
  • Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
  • Review and check basic structural drawings and shop drawings.
  • Provide information for design reports.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned including field and construction services assignments

The Movable Bridge Unit focuses on the structural mechanical and electrical design of movable bridges of all types. Projects include new design of movable structures structural mechanical and electrical inspection and rehabilitation of existing bridges. Our instrumentation group is housed in this unit and focuses on short term monitoring of bridges and other structures using a wide variety of gauges and instrumentation. Structural Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as well as CADD Technicians make up the staff of this unit.
