Entomology Co-Op

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support hemipteran insect diet and plant bioassays by developing new assays and improving existing assays using robust scientific approaches;
• Design conduct and interpret complex entomological studies in lab growth chamber and greenhouse environments;
• Identify process improvements test troubleshoot and provide solutions to technical problems;
• Apply critical thinking strategic mindset and foresight in evolving technical and business environments;
• Present final project(s)/recommendation(s) to team at the conclusion of the co-op/internship;

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

• Currently enrolled in a masters or Ph.D. program pursuing a degree in entomology plant sciences molecular biology or related discipline;
• Working knowledge of insect rearing hemipteran insects Omics artificial diets plantinsect interactions;
• Ability to design conduct troubleshoot experiments run basic statistics and report results;
• Possess problemsolving skills and able to work both independently and as part of a team;
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Strong background in plantinsect interactions insect feeding behavior insect physiology RNAi molecular biology Omics;
• Experience with insect bioassays insect dissections transgenic cropping systems.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care vision dental retirement PTO sick leave etc (if relevant).
