Engineering Project Manager

OVERVIEW

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for planning coordinating and executing engineering projects from concept through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time within budget and in accordance with quality safety and customer requirements. The Engineering Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between engineering operations customers suppliers and other stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes and support business objectives.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage engineering projects through all phases of the project lifecycle including planning execution monitoring and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules milestone timing budgets resource plans and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support the engineering planning and effort estimation across the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Coordinate cross-functional team alignment and commitments including Engineering Manufacturing Quality Test lab Supply Chain Sales and Customer Service to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate status risks and milestones to management and stakeholders.
  • Manage customer communications regarding project scope timelines deliverables and change requests.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to minimize delays quality issues and cost overruns.
  • Facilitate project meetings establish action plans and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies customer requirements industry standards and applicable regulations.
  • Track project costs labor utilization and capital expenditures to support financial objectives.
  • Support product development efforts and engineering change management processes.
  • Review technical documentation specifications and project deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate supplier and contractor activities to support project requirements when necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management effectiveness and operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation reports metrics and records.
  • Analyze project data identify trends and recommend improvements to processes and performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers internal teams and external partners.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize project management software and Microsoft Office applications to effectively manage projects.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership organizational problem-solving decision-making and communication skills.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering design manufacturing processes and product development methodologies to support successful project execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Project Management Industrial Technology or a related technical field required.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with varying levels of complexity.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and customer-facing projects.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.



TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 10% travel may be required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time frequently bending climbing rotating squatting reaching kneeling or stooping lifting up to 25 pounds and periods of computer use.


Employee may be frequently exposed to heat/cold heights gases vibration dust chemicals odors dampness fumes and noises.
