The Engineering Process Supervisor leads the activities of engineering/laboratory technologists and/or highly skilled production and inspection employees in various phases of conducting and evaluating environmental or nondestructive tests calibrating and maintaining environmental and nondestructive testing equipment and/or conducting precision measurement utilizing coordinate measuring machines and in calibrating and maintaining environmental and nondestructive testing equipment. This role will supervise bargaining unit employees in non-destructive inspection and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Utilizes and motivates employees to obtain maximum output in terms of quality and performance; implements HOS methodology.
- Interfaces effectively with NSE and work-for-others customers Quality Assurance Manufacturing Engineering and other support organizations.
- Assigns equipment and personnel to plan work assignments batch sizes and production quantities.
- Implements quality policies and delegates and disseminates instructions to staff.
- Assures employees are trained and assigned to perform necessary operations including conformance to specifications.
- Sets appropriate schedules and priorities and controls quality and costs and coordinates inspection schedules to meet priorities.
- Suggests and effects changes improvements methods and equipment in accordance with quality objectives.
- Evaluates requirements for equipment and facilities within the areas of responsibility.
- Promotes and fosters a continuous improvement mindset.
- Recommends new approaches policies and procedures to effect continual improvements within the division in efficiency of services best-practice and innovative processes to define coordinate and implement procedural changes to assure cost-effective operations throughout the division.
- Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing hiring and training associates; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding motivating and disciplining employees; addressing performance and personnel concerns.
- Follows Honeywell policies upholds professional standards and performs all work in a manner respectful of others.
- Ensure departmental compliance with internal procedures (ex: HS&E departmental handbooks and etc.) regulatory requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation Environmental Protection Agency Internal Civil Aviation Organization Department of Energy Internal Air Transportation Associates General Services Administration and Motor Carrier Safety Act in handling and shipment of hazardous materials.
- Bachelors degree and 2 years of related experience or Associates degree and 3 years of related experience or HS diploma/certification and 4 years of related experience.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Two or more years experience leading a staff and/or project team.
