AI u0026 Data Platforms (AiDP) is ISu0026Ts engine for AI-powered innovation. The team brings together data application development and machine learning including generative AI along with data services and customer success functions to help ISu0026T build solutions more efficiently and streamline the adoption and embedding of generative AI across Apple.
As an Engineering Manager on the Applied Machine Learning team you will lead a team of software engineers building tools and platforms at scale that power Apples enterprise GenAI efforts. Youll be responsible for the technical execution and delivery of a GenAI platform with distributed compute storage ingestion and inference. Youll be working with a team of software engineers and machine learning engineers to build RAG and Agentic platform components. If you have a deep understanding of distributed systems generative AI a strong engineering background and leadership experience then this role may be a great one for you! In this role you will lead and mentor forward-thinking engineers and will own related activities and interactions with teams across Apple. You will work cross-functionally with key internal partners researchers product teams and platform engineers to develop and deliver our products.
Actively manage the performance of the team reporting to you and take responsibility for driving its scalable GenAI platforms and products meet Apples standards for performance reliability scalability privacy and user experiencenGuide development of APIs and frameworks for agentic workflows and/or complex multi-step ML systemsnCollaborate optimally with partner/product teams to set the goals expectations and roadmaps for their technical details and roadmaps for diverse audiences including engineering partners product management teams and executives across Apple.
10 years of experience working on distributed systemsn6 years of experience in a management or leadership rolenDeep understanding of GenAI fundamentalsnDeep understanding of Java C C or similar programming languagenDeep understanding of distributed systems like Flink Spark NoSQL degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Track record of leading teams and delivering complex AI projects from conception to productionnStrong communication skillsnUnderstanding of LLM inference and deploymentnUnderstanding of RAG and Agentic systemsnPast experience leading a scalable platform team
