We are looking for an Engineer II to join our growing Sarasota team. This is an opportunity for a motivated civil engineer to take the next step in their career work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to a diverse portfolio of commercial residential and mixed-use projects throughout the region.

Youll have the opportunity to expand your technical skills gain greater ownership of project work and build the experience needed to advance toward project management and professional licensure.

As an Engineer II youll play an active role in the planning design and delivery of land development projects. Working alongside senior engineers and project managers youll progressively take on more responsibility while developing your technical expertise and project leadership skills.

• Design and prepare civil site development plans for commercial residential and mixed-use projects including grading drainage paving utilities and site layout.
• Perform grading earthwork drainage and stormwater management analyses and prepare supporting calculations.
• Develop construction documents technical reports exhibits and other deliverables required to move projects from concept through permitting and construction.
• Support zoning entitlement and permitting efforts by preparing technical documentation and coordinating with reviewing agencies.
• Coordinate with project managers senior engineers surveyors landscape architects and other disciplines to develop practical constructible solutions.
• Work with regulatory agencies and project stakeholders to address comments resolve issues and help keep projects moving forward.
• Apply applicable local state and federal codes standards and regulations to project design.
• Communicate technical information clearly through plans calculations reports exhibits meetings and day-to-day coordination.
• Manage assigned project tasks and deliverables while maintaining quality and meeting established schedules.

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification.
• At least 1 year of relevant civil or land development engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of civil engineering design principles practices codes and standards.
• Experience with common engineering design software drafting tools and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical problem-solving organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members clients consultants and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
• A desire to continue developing technically and professionally toward professional engineering licensure.
