As an Engineer II with our Marketplace team you will help build and support web experiences for sellers and customers enabling them to discover research and purchase products through Best Buys marketplace ecosystem and digital commerce channels. Our mission is to build and evolve modern scalable frontend platforms that power seamless user experiences. As part of the Marketplace engineering team youll develop and enhance web applications for product discovery seller platform shopping and commerce integrations. Youll build responsive accessible and high-performance web applications using modern frontend technologies. Our technology stack includes React JavaScript TypeScript HTML5 CSS3 REST APIs GraphQL Storybook and modern UI component libraries. Youll work closely with backend services and APIs to deliver seamless end-to-end customer experiences. We seek a passionate frontend engineer with expertise in user experience and building high-quality web applications that delight users.
Youll primarily work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location but must live within a drivable distance to our corporate campus in Richfield Minnesota. Specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide details during the hiring process.

What youll do
- Build responsive accessible and high-performance web applications that deliver exceptional user experiences across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Design develop and maintain reusable frontend applications and UI components using React TypeScript JavaScript HTML5 CSS3 and Storybook.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL services to create seamless data-driven user experiences.
- Deliver simple scalable solutions that enable rapid iteration experimentation and continuous delivery of customer value.
- Collaborate closely with product managers designers and engineers through pair programming design sessions code reviews and shared application ownership.
- Thrive in fast-changing environments by adapting to evolving requirements taking ownership from ideation through delivery and driving successful outcomes.
Basic qualifications
- 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science Engineering or related field OR equivalent relevant professional experience
- 2 years of relevant Enterprise Software Engineering experience at scale
- 2 years of development experience with React JavaScript TypeScript Redux HTML CSS Storybook and related technologies while leveraging modern tools such as GitHub GitHub Actions Webpack/Vite and CI/CD pipelines.
- 1 years of experience with REST web services and/or similar technologies
Preferred qualifications
- 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Experience building web UI using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React) or working on MCP-style applications
- 3 years of development experience with Java Spring REST web services and similar technologies
- Knowledge of modern deployment practices CI/CD and GitHub Actions
- Ability and aptitude to solve complex problems and make pragmatic tradeoffs in a fast-moving evolving environment
- Familiarity with networking security and infrastructure concepts (e.g. load balancers DNS firewalls)
