As aBody SystemsEngineerTeam Leader(SET-Leader)for Exteriors and Interiors you will be involved in the cradle to grave approach to design & development. Expected to create concept design for novel solutions to current and new opportunities. Lead analysis of concept and final product testing & launch commercial & timing activities and work with studio manufacturing team and purchasing. You will be collaborating and leadingthe teams towards deliverable goals.

- SET-Leaders are organizationally assigned to a Body Systems Engineering Team(futureproduct development) andhave a matrix relationship to the Technical Program Leaders (TPL) in Research & Development.
- SET-Leaders are responsible together with theDesign Release Engineers (DRE) Purchasing Finance Manufacturing Quality andLogisticsTeam Members for cross-departmental planning and management of activities as well as ensuring compliance with target specificationsspecifically in Exterior (Bumpers LightingTrim Glazing IP ConsoleSeats and Restraints).
- They are accountable for the efficient integration of their L3 scope into the vehicle up to series regarding technical cost timing and quality targets as well asTimingdeliverables.
- Main activities:
- Lead technical decision-making and approve technical solutions for assigned subsystem scope
- Ensure the documentation needed for the forward sourcing plan (spec books/Quotation Details/ etc.) on time.
- Create and agreetiming progression parts/system to MRD deliverablecross-functionally.
- Track and ensure the changes needed for technical evaluationand Issue Resolutions.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the project timeline
- Own assigned exterior and interior subsystem development activities from concept through production launch including technical performance cost quality and timing deliverables.
- Independently manage technical issues trade-off decisions and cross-functional activities within assigned system scope.
- Serve as the primary engineering owner for assigned systems and drive issue resolution through production release.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of theScout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte NC.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Some travel to our manufacturing site in Columbia SC and our Innovation Center in Novi Michigan will be required.

- Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline (Mastersdegree and significant experience is a plus)
- 5 years experience in Bodyengineeringdevelopment or equivalent industry experience.
- Knowledge of VW Group tools and process is a huge plus.
- Understanding ofproduct requirements and features to deliver world class customer experience.
- Strong understanding of 1stprincipal physics of asystem loads forces and overall function of the system and tradeoffs among design package function and customer experience involved with these systems.
- Ability to self-direct self-managing issues to closure involving all necessary teams and adapt quickly to program changes.
- Strong desire to create unique methods for analysis using tools available.
- CAD design experience for closures systems or related vehicle components. CatiaV5 and/or3DXexperience preferred but not required.
- Advanced use oftoolsfor analyzing structural performance motion forces kinematic performance manufacturingoptions with rapid iterations.
- Knowledge ofan automotivedesign and development process system requirements and general engineering best practices.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of integrity.
- Ability to deliver under pressure and manage component designanddevelopment within cost weight and timing constraints.
- Willingness to travel to suppliers manufacturing and testing facilities as required throughout product developmentand launch.

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial Base Salary Range: $110000.00 - $135000.00
