What youll do

Your engineering ingenuity wonder & magic in coming up with a powertrain that supports the concepts will be instrumental in shaping the perception of Scout as a brand as well as gaining peer admiration in the automotive industry.

The essence of this role is to:

  • Support the development integration and calibration of the powertrain and drive systems for Scout pickup trucks and SUVs (BEV / EREV)
  • Coordinate function development across internal teams and suppliers including alignment on requirements calibration strategy software maturity validation status and release timelines
  • Own the function integration together with the software development team from concept to series release ensuring a robust integration
  • Define and manage On road and OffRoad function requirements interfaces and operating strategies including the support of defining the UI/UX requirements for the vehicle
  • Develop and execute test cases vehicle functions related to Drive System
  • Work closely with powertrain hardware chassis vehicle dynamics systems engineering and E/E teams to align on technical solutions
  • Support prototype and vehicle testing activities including calibration drives offroad testing data collection analysis and technical reporting
  • Collaborate effectively in a crossfunctional and global environment to deliver integrated highquality powertrain and OffRoad solutions

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location inNovi Michigan.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.
What youll bring

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Automotive Engineering or a related technical field
  • 3 years of experience in powertrain or drive system development calibration and validation within concept or serial vehicle programs preferably for electric or electrified vehicles (BEV / EREV)
  • Handson experience with Function development and integration
  • Proven experience in function development across the Vmodel including requirement definition interface coordination test case development validation and software release activities
  • Experience developing integrating and validating OffRoad or drivelinerelated functions such as mechanical locking differentials traction or torquebased control strategies or offroad driving modes including the UI/UX requirements
  • Practical experience with calibration and validation on testbenches and vehicles including calibration test trips structured data analysis and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with calibration and development tools such as ETAS INCA MATLAB/Simulink and data analysis environments
  • Ability to read and understand Simulink models and Cbased source code to support calibration debugging and functional discussions
  • Experience working with crossfunctional teams and suppliers coordinating technical topics timelines and deliverables in a global development environment
  • Highly motivated handson engineer with strong ownership analytical thinking problemsolving skills and a passion for electric vehicles and offroad capability

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range $110000.00 - $135000.00
