As our Endoscopy Technician you will be a crucial support member for our gastroenterologists ensuring the safe and efficient performance of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures that are vital for patient care.
Every day you will prepare the endoscopy suite set up and maintain specialized scopes and equipment assist the physician during procedures and meticulously clean and reprocess endoscopes. You will be expected to ensure proper equipment function maintain a sterile field anticipate physician needs and provide patient support to facilitate a comfortable and successful examination.
To be successful in this role you must possess strong technical skills an exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the most rigorous standards of infection control within a fast-paced procedural environment.
- Assist the RN and physician in the continuous assessment preparation and monitoring of endoscopy patients including the application of vital signs equipment and proper positioning
- Provide direct support during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while collaborating with the nursing team to develop and implement individualized age-appropriate plans of care
- Ensure departmental readiness by managing inventory maintaining supplies and coordinating efficient room turnover and equipment decontamination
- Uphold strict patient safety standards by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals performing hand hygiene and following universal protocols
- Maintain operational integrity by verifying equipment functionality before use and ensuring the accurate collection and handling of clinical specimens
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR
Preferred
- High School Graduate General Studies or
- High School GED General Studies
- Completion of a GI Lab Technician training Course or Equivalent on the job training
- Two (2) years experience as a GILab Technician/or Certified SurgicalTechnician
- Military medical technician training considered
- Patient transport skills
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
