Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland plays a vital role as a local and regional leader in serious clinical illness or injury. With around-the-clock expertise for critical health issues including experts in trauma heart care burns significant wounds stroke brain surgery and more Legacy Emanuel is central to the health of our community and critical to the care of the Northwest.

Responsibilities

The Emergency Services Technician plays a vital role as part of the healthcare team assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.) Registered Nurse (R.N.) and Unit Secretary. This position is essential to the team-based approach to patient care and supports the efficient and effective flow of patients through the Emergency Department.

Patient Care

  • Provides direct patient care to newborns children adults and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.

Communication

  • Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients visitors EMS personnel and hospital staff.

Environmental Duties

  • Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness maintenance and safety of unit equipment and supplies.

Education & Competency

  • Maintains an active working knowledge of the Credentialing Competencies required for Emergency Services Technicians.

Professional Behavior

  • Consistently demonstrates professionalism in both appearance and conduct.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred

Skills:

  • Basic medical terminology.
  • Computer familiarity.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
Licensure
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification required.
  • CNA MA or EMT preferred.
Pay Range
USD $21.70 - USD $29.39 /Hr.
