Salary : $53.12 - Max (20 years of experience): $61.99

Job Summary:
  • The Clinical Manager responsibilities include providing leadership for and management of the clinical service area.
  • The service area will be centered on the care of the patients on a continuum related to a patient care event.
  • Responsibilities include clinical financial environmental and employee-related functions of the service area.
  • The Clinical Manager is responsible for conducting themselves as a professional role model being a clinical resource for and acting as liaison with the medical staff.
  • Other functions include keeping department operation within budgetary boundaries compliance with all regulatory requirements and human resource issues.
  • Responsible for integrating their departments services with the hospitals primary functions. Coordinates and integrates services within the department(s) and with other departments.
  • The Clinical Manager develops implements and evaluates policies and procedures that define scope of service and guide and support the provision of services.
  • Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care/service and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members meet the needs of patient care and non-patient care services.
  • Hires and evaluates new staff provides for orientation in-service training continuing education and annual evaluation of all personnel in their department(s).
  • Oversees any disciplinary processes and termination of employees in their department(s).
  • The Clinical Manager is responsible for ensuring staff receives ongoing information/updates on the department and hospital levels.


What you will do in this role:
  • Evaluate patients prior to surgery
  • Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
  • Assume responsibility for patient preparation including intravenous therapy preoperative medications and surgical site verification
  • Participate in surgical site verification including briefing time out debriefing and universal protocols according to hospital policy
  • Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
  • Deliver high-quality patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team consisting of the provider(s) surgeons surgical technologists and more
  • Consistently apply the nursing process critical thinking skills scientific judgment technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients
  • Assess patient condition monitor throughout your shift and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly
  • Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patients medical condition treatment and follow-up measures


What qualifications you will need:
  • Must hold a current RN license from the Missouri Board of Professional Registration or an active compact license. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS required upon hire. Certification in area of specialty preferred.
  • ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) OR PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) upon hire and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) OR ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses) required within one year of hire.
  • Bachelors Degree or Associate Degree
  • Must have 2 years of recent acute care ED management experience
