Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Norfolk VA

Position Status: Full-time 36 hours per week

Shift: Permanent Weekends Only Night shift

Available Hours:

7:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every (Permanent weekends)

Holiday Rotation: Required

Join a collaborative team serving patients across all acuity levels in an Emergency Department with more than 40 beds and over 100000 patient visits annually. Multiple treatment areas provide diverse clinical exposure and opportunities to strengthen your emergency nursing skills while contributing to quality outcomes and performance excellence.

As a Registered Nurse you will provide competent patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process: assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation coordination of care teaching health promotion and evaluation.

You will apply clinical knowledge and sound judgment while demonstrating professional standards in ethics culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence-based practice quality resource utilization and environmental health.

Education Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered

Certification/Licensure Requirements

• Registered Nurse license required
• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be considered
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS TCRN SCRN TNCC CEN PALS and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

• Prior RN experience preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• Strong candidates with related acute care critical care intermediate care trauma cardiac stroke or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials on-call pay overtime shift premiums extra-shift incentives or bonus opportunities.
