Embedded Systems Expert (DO-178C)

Job Summary
We are seeking an Embedded Systems Expert with deep expertise in DO-178C and avionics software development to lead the architecture and execution of safety-critical airborne systems.
The ideal candidate will be capable of architecting a system from concept through certification with extensive experience in Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES) and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) environments. This individual will provide technical leadership across the entire product lifecycle including requirements development architecture implementation integration verification validation and certification.
Location: The role can be onsite (CT) hybrid or fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end avionics software systems from concept through certification.
- Collaborate across systems hardware software verification and certification teams.
- Lead development of safety-critical embedded software in compliance with DO-178C.
- Support certification audits and regulatory compliance activities.
- Support definition and allocation of system-level and software requirements.
- Design and implement solutions for RTES and RTOS-based platforms.
- Conduct architecture reviews technical assessments and trade studies.
- Drive requirements traceability verification planning and validation activities.
- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong experience in embedded software development.
- Extensive hands-on 12 years of experience with DO-178C certification programs.
- Strong understanding of:
- Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES)
- Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Safety-critical software development
- Systems engineering processes
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed.
- Able to travel approximately two to six weeks in a year.
