About the Team

Connected Warfare builds the systems that give warfighters a decisive edge in real time command and control platforms like the Menace Family-of-Systems that fuse sensor data communications and autonomy into deployable hardware that works in contested environments. The firmware team is where the product meets reality. We write the code that runs closest to the hardware the drivers the protocols the real-time control loops that make these systems work when it matters. If a new board comes in we bring it to life. If something breaks at the hardware-software boundary we find it and fix it. We move fast ship often and work directly alongside Electrical Engineering on some of the most complex autonomous systems being built anywhere.

About the Role

Were looking for a firmware engineer who wants to grow their embedded skills on hardware that ships to the field. Youll write real-time microcontroller code build reusable drivers for sensors and peripherals and debug the cross-disciplinary problems that live between schematics and software. Youll work shoulder-to-shoulder with electrical engineers learn to read schematics and datasheets and see your code running on deployed systems within months of writing it. This is a role for someone who wants to build not maintain and whos excited about owning real firmware on real hardware from day one.

What Youll Do

  • Write firmware in C for microcontrollers across Connected Warfare platforms
  • Develop and integrate reusable device drivers for sensors peripherals and communication interfaces
  • Debug issues that span electrical firmware and software boundaries using bench tools and embedded debugging techniques
  • Support board bring-up alongside the Electrical Engineering team reviewing schematics validating interfaces and getting new hardware running
  • Contribute to firmware architecture decisions as the codebase grows
  • Ship code to production systems that are deployed in the field

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • 1 years of firmware or embedded software development experience (internships and personal projects count if the work is real)
  • Solid C coding ability for embedded systems
  • Experience developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments
  • Familiarity with common bus protocols (SPI I2C UART or similar)
  • Willingness to learn you dont need to know everything but you need to be hungry to figure it out
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM AVR MSP430 PIC etc.)
  • Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors
  • Debugging experience with JTAG SWD oscilloscopes or logic analyzers
  • Familiarity with CAN Ethernet USB RS232 or RS485
  • Personal or academic projects that show you build things not just coursework

US Salary Range

$166000 - $220000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience education and/or training critical skills and/or business considerations.
