ELL TEACHER
The ELL Teacher provides targeted English language instruction and support to multilingual learners in an elementary school setting. The ELL Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers ELL paraprofessionals specialists and school staff to ensure English Language Learners have meaningful access to grade-level curriculum and opportunities to develop their English language skills. The teacher uses data and student needs to plan instruction provide appropriate supports monitor progress and promote academic and social success.
- Provide direct English language instruction through small-group and/or individual instruction based on students English language proficiency levels and instructional needs.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students listening speaking reading and writing skills.
- Create and provide scaffolds visuals graphic organizers vocabulary supports modified materials and other resources that help ELL students access grade-level curriculum and classroom instruction.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support ELL students within the general education setting and ensure instruction is accessible and appropriately differentiated.
- Support teachers in identifying effective strategies accommodations and instructional practices for multilingual learners.
- Collaborate regularly with ELL paraprofessionals to coordinate student supports review student needs and ensure consistency in instructional strategies and expectations.
- Administer and/or support the administration of the ACCESS for ELLs assessment including preparing students following testing procedures and completing required documentation.
- Review ACCESS and other assessment data to identify student strengths needs and areas for continued language development.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student services progress assessment and English language proficiency.
- Communicate with families regarding student progress language development and available support as appropriate.
- Participate in grade-level meetings PLCs student support meetings and other collaborative planning opportunities.
- Work with school staff to support students academic achievement social-emotional development and successful integration into the school community.
