Physical Education at Great Hearts:

• All Great Hearts Elementary School students take Physical Education.

• The goal of the Physical Education class is to promote boththe physicalhealth and the growth in virtue of each student.

• Rigorous and joyful PE classes have a combination ofstrength andcardio exercises training in the basics of sports and discussions on the virtues including fortitude temperance prudence and justice.

• Sports include baseball soccer volleyball football and basketball.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth goodness and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students monitor progress and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture policies and expectations of Great Hearts including dress code conduct and safety procedures contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration school events assigned duties and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Required/Preferred Education:

• Bachelors or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
• Certification is not required for general education
• All majors are welcome

US work authorization isrequired but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
