Schedule: Full-Time 10-Hour Day Shifts
Pay Range: $33.85$44.30 per hour
Shift Differentials: $2.75 per hour for nights $2.50 per hour for weekends
Sign-On Bonus: $25000 with a two-year commitment
Relocation Assistance: May be available on a case-by-case basis

Job Overview

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an Electrophysiology Technologist to join its specialized cardiac procedural team in Peoria Illinois.

The EP Technologist will assist physicians with electrophysiology and other specialized radiologic procedures performed under sterile technique. This position is responsible for preparing patients and procedure rooms operating advanced imaging equipment maintaining sterile fields and supporting physicians throughout diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ARRT-registered Radiologic Technologist interested in advancing into electrophysiology and specialized cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with electrophysiology and other specialized radiologic procedures
  • Prepare procedure rooms equipment supplies and sterile fields before cases
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for procedures
  • Maintain sterile technique throughout invasive procedures
  • Pass catheters instruments supplies and other procedural equipment to physicians
  • Anticipate physician needs and provide procedural assistance throughout each case
  • Operate complex radiologic and fluoroscopic imaging equipment
  • Obtain radiographic exposures as directed by the physician
  • Ensure appropriate imaging techniques and radiation-safety practices are followed
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation between cases
  • Maintain equipment and report malfunctions or technical concerns appropriately
  • Collaborate with physicians nurses technologists and other members of the procedural team
  • Provide age-appropriate care to patients undergoing electrophysiology and specialized cardiac procedures
  • Maintain accurate procedural documentation
  • Follow infection-control patient-safety and departmental standards
  • Participate in required training competencies meetings and continuing education
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Current ARRT registration
  • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency radiography licensure
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  • Strong knowledge of radiologic imaging principles and radiation safety
  • Ability to maintain sterile technique during invasive procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and patient-care skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment

Preferred

  • Previous electrophysiology experience
  • Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Radiology or special-procedures experience
  • Previous direct patient-care experience
  • Experience assisting with invasive cardiovascular procedures
  • Experience with fluoroscopic imaging in a sterile procedural environment
