Job Summary
What you will do:
The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for electronics projects acting as a recognized subject matter expert within the organization. This role requires deep expertise in electronics development and a strong ability to create and drive innovative technical concepts and solutions. The position partners closely with management and key stakeholders to align priorities influence technical direction and support business objectives. Operating with a high degree of autonomy this individual will play a significant role in advancing both the departments technical capabilities and the broader organizations development.
How you will do it:
Leads negotiation of customer specifications as the primary electronics interface.
Instructs the team in the review of industry standards regulatory standards and internal design guidelines to establish electrical product requirements.
Leads requirements analysis and validation planning activities in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes without guidance.
Leads design verification activities such as engineering analysis simulation design reviews DFMEAs validation testing and reporting in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes without guidance.
Leads design direction for core and customer electronic circuit designs covering analog digital micro-controller architecture DCDC converters and design of power semiconductor circuits.
Leads the team in the generation of technical requirements of electrical architecture and electrical circuit design components and sub-assemblies including PCBA contactors fans temperature sensors Flex PCBs and other electrical hardware.
Leads the team in the generation of hardware / software interface specifications and electronic test software requirements working closely with the embedded software engineering team.
Leads design and test for vehicle level electrical and electromagnetic performance per customer requirements. Optimize the electrical system design to balance cost performance mass volume and energy efficiency.
Reviewer of electrical design analyses and test results in support of design verification.
Define test setups plans and execute tests for electrical circuits and components.
Directs suppliers to deliver components to specifications and costs.
Ensures the design for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure that the design is optimized for manufacturing processes.
Leads electronic project team to develop electronics according to process requirements best practices and timing plan.
What we look for:
Required:
Bachelors degree in engineering
12 years of professional engineering experience in related field
OE Automotive/Tier 1 embedded electronics design experience
Full lifecycle automotive electronics experience required
Expert in the use of electronic design and development tools including schematic capture layout analysis and simulation
Expert with electronic circuit debug and test
Expert in the use of electrical engineering equipment such as power supplies DMMs and oscilloscopes
Expert knowledge of CAN LIN and Ethernet and associated development tools
Preferred:
Experience with Li-Ion battery management desired
