Job Summary
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Assembler in Buffalo NY for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electronics Assembler will build electronic and electromechanical products supporting advanced simulation systems. This hands-on role may include circuit card assembly fine-pitch soldering microelectronics assembly cable harness fabrication transformer winding inspection testing rework and repair. Candidates must be able to complete required in-house workmanship training.
Required Skills
High school diploma or GED.
U.S. citizenship required.
02 years of assembly or electronics experience.
Ability to read and follow assembly drawings diagrams job aids written instructions and released build documentation.
Ability to learn new assembly processes and tasks.
Ability to operate basic production equipment such as soldering stations crimp tools microscopes and ovens.
Ability to inspect completed work for workmanship and compliance.
Ability to perform continuity checks on in-process and completed assemblies.
Ability to accurately record production data in travelers shop-floor systems and quality records.
Ability to follow safety ESD FOD and cleanliness requirements.
Ability to move objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
Ability to successfully complete in-house workmanship training.
Ability to work 2nd shift onsite in Buffalo NY.
Preferred Skills
Current or previous IPC-A-610 certification.
Current or previous J-STD-001 certification.
Class 2 soldering ability.
Fine-pitch soldering experience.
BGA rework or circuit card repair experience.
Experience performing detailed work under a microscope.
Strong manual dexterity and precision.
Cable harness or electromechanical assembly experience.
Basic Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook skills.
Experience in a metric-based manufacturing environment.
What Youll Do
Assemble electronic components using drawings diagrams and job aids.
Perform circuit card microelectronics electromechanical wire and cable harness assembly as assigned.
Operate production tools and equipment safely.
Inspect assemblies and identify workmanship issues or nonconformances.
Perform rework and repair activities as needed.
Complete continuity checks and document production results.
Collaborate with technicians engineers and supervisors to clarify instructions and improve processes.
Maintain a safe clean ESD-controlled and FOD-compliant work area.
Work Schedule / Shift
2nd shift 4:00 PM12:30 AM.
Includes an unpaid 30-minute lunch.
9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Schedule may change based on business needs.
No relocation assistance.
