Job Title:Electronic Technician Trainee

Job Description:
- The Electronic Technician Trainee is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands.
- The Electronic Technician Trainee improves maintenance related nonproductive time ratio of the Product Lines assets within the Maintenance Base (MB) and improves maintenance efficiency and people productivity.
- Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
- Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements work orders parts used and time to maintain.
- Comply with TLM Product Line standards.
- Participate in the continuous improvement culture initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance parts and repair authorization numbers failures and work-in-process.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
- Implement CoSD projects such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.
- Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
- Comply with the TLM Competency Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance testing and repair of electronic and electromechanical equipment (e.g. rotary control units)
- Use diagnostic tools (multimeters oscilloscopes calipers) to troubleshoot issues
- Assemble and build components such as bearing packs
- Conduct testing (including flow loop testing) and basic programming tasks
- Support failure investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work within assigned workstation areas and rotate tasks periodically
- Maintain production targets and support equipment turnaround efficiency
Experience & Skills
Required:
- Minimum: 2 years relevant experience or equivalent education (2-year technical degree in electronics technology) / military maintenance background
- Ability to use: multimeters basic hand tools oscilloscopes and measuring devices
- Strong computer skills and ability to navigate business systems
- Basic understanding of electronics and some mechanical aptitude
- Preferred:
- Experience with rotary steerable or similar oilfield equipment (for higher pay range)
- Soldering experience (ISO certifications a plus but not required
Work Environment
- Industrial shop/maintenance base environment (exposure to oil grease mud and field-returned equipment) Not a lab or clean room
- Requires wearing coveralls and appropriate PPE
