Airbus DS Government Solutions Inc is currently seeking a full-time on-site Electromechanical Production Technician located in Plano Texas.
About the Role
The Electromechanical Production Technician supports the assembly integration testing and troubleshooting of satellite communications (SATCOM) systems and related defense electronics hardware. This role is responsible for building and integrating mission-critical communication equipment used in military aerospace and tactical network applications.
This position serves as an entry-level technical role that bridges traditional production assembly and higher-level electromechanical or RF technician responsibilities. The technician will work closely with engineering integration manufacturing and test teams in a fast-paced SATCOM production environment supporting U.S. Department of Defense and aerospace customers.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude basic electrical and electronics knowledge attention to detail and the ability to follow technical documentation and standardized production processes.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and integrate SATCOM terminals communication subsystems antenna assemblies RF chassis and ruggedized electronic equipment.
Install and route RF cables coaxial assemblies wiring harnesses connectors and power distribution components.
Follow established manufacturing and quality procedures in compliance with IPC workmanship standards ESD requirements FOD prevention procedures and ITAR regulations
Assist engineering teams with prototype builds system modifications and engineering changes.
Support new product introduction (NPI) activities and process improvements.
Provide manufacturing feedback to improve assembly efficiency and product reliability.
Participate in integration readiness reviews and production support activities.
Maintain clean and organized production and integration work areas.
Ensure all assemblies meet customer configuration and documentation requirements
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED with technical experience (Military communications or technical training may substitute for formal education)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings wiring diagrams and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under challenging conditions.
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to use standard production and electronic assembly tools
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Valid drivers license
Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
Ability to lift to 40 pounds
Manual dexterity for precision assembly tasks
Ability to work with small components and cable assemblies
Ability to work safely in laboratory and production environments
Preferred:
Experience with SATCOM terminals Tactical communication systems RF hardware Antenna systems or Ruggedized military equipment
Familiarity with MIL-STD workmanship requirements and Defense manufacturing environments
Experience supporting military maritime or remote industrial operations.
