Are you an experienced electrician looking for a new challenge that will contribute to fish and wildlife across Washington state
This is an opportunity toinspect electric systems and equipment to identify failures or loss of efficiency including detecting and correcting faulty or worn parts.
We are seeking a candidate toperform journey-level work installing maintaining and repairing low voltage electrical equipment and systems of 600 volts or less.
WHAT TO EXPECT -
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role this position will:
Electrical Work.
- Independently functions as a fully qualified electrician to perform skilled installation maintenance and repair work on low voltage electrical equipment and systems of 600 volts or less.
- Install modify maintain and repair interior wiring and cables connections for electric machines switches and controls fuse boxes breaker panels distribution and instrument panels buzzer and bell circuits and hearing and power circuits.
- Install adjust maintain modify and repair electric motors equipment and instruments such as pumps (up to 300 hp) fans metering devices power tools motors and generators.
- Inspect electric systems and equipment to detect and correct faulty or worn parts.
- Perform electrical testing including voltage amperage and meg-ohm for assessing electrical efficiency and motor degradation.
- Schedule and coordinate dates for arrival or supplies and equipment.
Project Administration.
- May schedule direct coordinate and lead trades in the various phases of electrical work either new construction or facility maintenance.
- Prepare cost tracking reports develops a schedule of maintenance activities based on work orders received from our customers and determine materials equipment and manpower needs for each assignment.
- Develop cost estimates of labor and materials needed for building maintenance alteration or remodeling projects.
Working Conditions:
Work setting: Duties are performed at construction sites hatchery and wildlife areas and in a fabrication shop. Hazards include working on rough terrain riverbanks slippery slopes and other surfaces confined and difficult to reach spaces working and driving in all types of weather conditions and lifting of 50 pounds repetitively when loading and unloading trucks or moving materials around project sites. Some tasks will involve working on a computer. This position may involve working in or near water including tasks that require navigating negotiating and performing duties related to water environments.
Schedule: Monday Thursday 6:00 AM 4:30 PM. The standard work schedule includes the potential for occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Schedules may vary based on business needs time of year and/or weather conditions.
Travel requirements: Travel 60-80% to and from work sites including overnight travel depending on season.
Customer Interactions: Frequent interactions varying between Federal Local Inter-Agency and Intra-Agency customers and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
This position requires all of the following:
- A current and valid Washington State Journey-Level Electrician certificate (EL01). - Three (3) years of electrical trade experience installing maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems generators industrial motors and control circuits.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel and Outlook).
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications our ideal applicant will possess some or all the following:
- Experience and knowledge of water distribution and pumping systems/principals to include motor controls VFDs and soft-starts.
- Class A CDL.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience and knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers.
